I'm not clear why my mother kept all of my school reports for nearly 50 years. It certainly wasn't because they were memorable, at least not any kind of positive way. |

When I was a boy one of my most memorable experiences was a school trip to London's Science Museum and one of the most compelling exhibits was MONIAC, a 'computer' built by New Zealander, William (Bill) Phillips in 1949. |

Probably the one thing that winds me up most is when I hear about dyslexic children being given remedial lessons. It's hard to imagine anything more calculated to alienate an intelligent student than additional lessons in what appears to them to be an incomprehensible subject. |
